Guidelines
Learning throughout life is crucial for personal growth and international exchange is imperative for the future of our world. Very Small Planet Dancers offers children an opportunity to learn about global dance and discover the many cultures in which these dances are rooted. Through educational performances, we share these experiences with our audiences, and encourage all to appreciate the richness of our differences.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Will attend dance classes.
Will arrive on time
Will respect the teacher, the studio, the other
dancers and the property of the Small Planet Dancers.
Will participate in performances as their
schedules permit.
If performing, will attend the class before the
performance.
Will bring all dance shoes to class
Will bring complete costumes to all
performances.
Will have fun.
PARENT RESPONSIBITIES
Will arrange for their child to be at dance
classes on time.
Will arrange transportation to and from classes
and performances.
Will pay tuition on the first class of a session
(checks payable to Small Planet Dancers)
Will notify Jo Sarnelli at (413) 746-9067 or info@SmallPlanetDancers.com if
their child is unable to attend dance class.
Will notify Jo Sarnelli, as soon as possible, if
their child is unable to attend a performance.
Will provide costumes and shoes for their child
as needed.
Will complete performance attendance form in a
timely manner.
Will periodically check emails for updates and
the website for upcoming events www.SmallPlanetDancers.com
Will be quiet and respectful during dance class
and will not interrupt class.
Will, on a rotation with other parents, act as a
class monitor to assist the teacher.
Will be responsible for younger siblings
(remember we are renting this space.)
TEACHER RESPONSIBILITES
Will teach a variety of global dances.
Will be assisted during the class by having one
parent present in the studio to act as a monitor and helper.
Will give plenty of positive reinforcement to
all the dancers. Will start and end each
class on a positive note.
Will periodically review with the children the
dances they have already learned.
Will notify parents, in writing, of upcoming
performance at least one month in advance.
Will keep the cost of costumes low and will
provide a detailed description of costumes.
Will provide enough notice to parents to get
costumes and shoes for new dances.
Will communicate with the parents any changes in
the schedule.
Will be respectful to children and parents.
Will have fun.
